Both partners of the Checkpoint Peace project have a vast experience in public actionism. In Berlin, Vitsche is running rallies since the beginning of the invasion, while in Mariupol, between 2016 and 2022, Platform TU! was the driver of street activism on many topics, from human rights to local corruption, and even released the board game for youth on the practice of creative actionism 

 

In the Checkpoint Peace project, partners are teaming up to conduct 4 actions addressing the topic of the project: toxic “pacifism”, memory, and the history of Germany and Ukraine. As Mariupol is completely destroyed by r*ssian invasion, the team of Platform TU! has no familiar environment to go out and act. This way, Berlin is turning into the public stage for performances, actions, rallies, and marches within this German-Ukrainian collaboration.
